First registered as a charity in 1979

Originally jointly administered and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pembroke, The Algonquin Chapter of the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Ontario (APEO), and the Pembroke Observer.

Two main purposes

Assist the scientific and teaching professions in their active support of scientific progress and education among young people in the County of Renfrew; and encourage young people in the County of Renfrew to consider lifetime vocations in science and technology and to stimulate their minds to a better understanding of the role of these fields in national and international affairs.

Today's Fair

Is sponsored by many corporate and individual sponsors, with the APEO and the Rotary Club of Pembroke remaining as sponsors but with no members on the committee. Our committee is now made up of educators, scientists, engineers and technology professionals. With a mandate is to grow the interest in science and technology among the youth, educators and science and technology community of the Renfrew County region. Which directly reflects that of the original purpose 36 years ago.
